71st Herald Sun Golf Classic

June 19-25, 2017

 

PLAY:

Qualifying rounds will be played on Monday and Tuesday, June 19 and 20 to determine placement within flights.  Based on qualifying scores, all players will be placed in a flight of 16 players to include the Championship, Presidents and Senior Flights.  There will be no matches played on Wednesday UNLESS there are more than 16 players in the higher flights.  Only those “play-in” matches will be held Wednesday morning.  First round of the Match Play will begin on Thursday morning June 22 and carry through Sunday for the Championship matches June 25.  Those selecting the Senior Division will qualify and play from the Gold Senior Tees.

 

FIELD:

Limited to the FIRST 128 received paid entries.  The maximum field size will be determined one week prior to play.  There will be an alternate list based on a first received basis for early withdrawals prior to the start of the qualifying rounds.  Pairings and starting times for qualifying rounds will be published in the Herald-Sun Newspaper, posted on the Herald-Sun web page, Hillandalegolf.com and in the Hillandale Golf Club golf shop prior to the tournament.

 

ENTRY FEE AND REGISTRATION:

The entry fee is $135.00 and must accompany the entry form in order for the first 128 entrants to be registered for the event.  Sign up will begin on Monday, May 8, 2017 and can be made by either of the following:

  • Go online to hillandalegolf.com and click on Herald-Sun Classic. Next, click on “registration”.  Payment of fee can be made online with credit card using MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover Card or PayPal.
  • Stop by the Hillandale Golf Club golf shop and complete and entry form to include entry fee.

NOTE: For those who withdraw after paying with a credit card there will be a $10.00 fee to cover credit card processing fees.

 

ENTRY DEADLINE (new tournament policy):

All completed entry forms accompanied with payment must be received by 5:00 PM Sunday June 11, 2017.  No entries for the tournament proper will be accepted after the June 11 date.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

COURSE RULES:

Beverage coolers are not permitted on the golf course however thermos/water jugs/plastic containers may be used.  The tournament dress code for participants prohibits such attire as blue jeans of any kind, T-Shirts, tank tops, cut-off shorts, tennis shorts, etc. on the golf course.  Golf shoes with only non-metal spikes are permitted.  Tennis shoe type soles are also permitted.

 

CART POLICY:

Competitors may walk or ride in this event.  For those riding please keep in mind that the golf carts will be issued based on group need not individual preference.  For example if two players are riding only 1 (one) cart will be issued.  If a seat is available, a spectator may ride for a fee of $20.00.  Understand the rules of competition must be followed regarding advice and caddy stipulations.  This is to ensure a fair and equitable event for all competitors and that Spectator carts are available (no reservations).
